Costs explained

The charter price is not always the holiday price.

DreamSail separates the headline yacht price from the extras that can change the true cost of the week.

01

Base charter price

The yacht hire for the agreed charter period, subject to the supplier's quotation and inclusions.

02

Mandatory charter extras

These can include final cleaning, transit log/base fees, linen, local taxes or a mandatory charter pack.

03

Security deposit or damage product

A refundable card/deposit hold, damage waiver, reduced-deposit product or other supplier arrangement may apply.

04

Operating & cruising costs

Fuel, marina or mooring fees, shore power/water, national park charges and provisioning depend on how you use the yacht.

05

People & optional extras

Skipper, host/chef, outboard, paddleboard, Wi-Fi, airport transfer, early check-in and other options vary by supplier.

Budget smarter

Four costs people often underestimate.

  • High-season berthing in premium marinas.
  • Catamaran marina fees, which can differ from monohull pricing.
  • Fuel on motor yachts or generator-heavy use.
  • Professional crew daily fees plus their meals and, where applicable, gratuities or other agreed expenses.

DreamSail principle

Before you commit, the question should be:

“What is the realistic total I should budget for this charter, not just the yacht hire?”
