These terms cover the website, DreamSail Compass, destination content, yacht-search enquiries and third-party information. Booking-specific rules are set out separately.
DreamSail is operated by Handley Design Ltd (company number 17308511), registered in England and Wales. Registered office: 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom, WC2H 9JQ. Full business details are on our Legal information page.
These terms apply to dreamsail.co.uk, which is operated by Handley Design Ltd under the DreamSail trading name, and when you browse or use DreamSail Compass, the destination and charter guides, yacht-search/enquiry forms and other website features. They do not by themselves form the charter contract for a yacht. A charter booking may also be subject to the DreamSail Booking & Agency Conditions, the identified supplier's terms and any quotation or booking confirmation.
DreamSail is designed to help customers research yacht charters and, where available, connect them with yacht owners, fleet operators, charter companies or booking/inventory platforms. Unless a quotation or booking document expressly states otherwise, DreamSail does not own, operate, crew or manage the yachts shown on the website.
Where DreamSail is appointed to arrange a booking as a disclosed agent or intermediary, the underlying charter is supplied by the business identified in the quotation or booking documents. Describing an arrangement as an agency arrangement does not override any rights or obligations that apply under consumer or package-travel law.
DreamSail Compass is a planning and recommendation tool. It scores cruising regions against the answers you give and is intended to help create a shortlist. It is not professional navigation, meteorological, legal, visa, medical, insurance or safety advice, and it does not assess a skipper's legal competence for a particular vessel or destination.
Routes, passage lengths, seasons, winds, mooring notes, qualification summaries and destination descriptions are indicative. Before sailing, rely on current charts, official notices, local regulations, forecasts, the charter operator's instructions and the judgement of the skipper in command.
Yacht data may come from third-party inventory systems and suppliers. Availability, specifications, photographs, equipment, base location and prices can change. A search result or indicative quote is not a guarantee that a yacht remains available.
Where DreamSail presents a specific bookable price to a UK consumer, unavoidable fees, taxes and charges that the consumer must pay and that can be calculated in advance should be included in the total price shown. Optional extras and genuinely variable usage costs, such as fuel or marina charges, may be shown separately where appropriate. The final quotation should identify what is included, what is mandatory, what is optional and the applicable currency.
Submitting a website form asks DreamSail to contact you about your requirements. It does not reserve a yacht, authorise payment or create a binding charter booking. Please check the information you submit, particularly dates, crew numbers, skipper experience and contact details.
We may use the email address you provide to respond to the enquiry and administer any resulting booking. Optional marketing is handled separately as described in our Privacy notice.
The website may link to or display information from yacht suppliers, inventory platforms and other third parties. Their websites and services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. A link does not mean DreamSail guarantees or endorses every statement on the linked service.
You may use the website for lawful personal or business trip-planning purposes. You must not knowingly introduce malware, attempt unauthorised access, interfere with the site's operation, misuse enquiry forms, scrape or systematically extract substantial parts of the DreamSail database, or use site content in a way that infringes intellectual-property or other rights.
The DreamSail name, branding, original website design, DreamSail Compass structure, original written content and other original materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property rights. Third-party photographs and data remain subject to their own rights and licences; photography credits are listed on the Image credits page.
We take reasonable steps to keep the website available and secure, but uninterrupted or error-free access cannot be guaranteed. We may suspend or change features for maintenance, security, supplier changes or technical reasons. You are responsible for using appropriate device and browser security.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or rights that cannot be excluded under consumer law.
DreamSail is responsible for its own obligations and for providing its own services with the standard required by applicable law. Where DreamSail acts only as an agent for an identified supplier, DreamSail is not the operator of the yacht and is not promising to perform the supplier's operational charter obligations. This does not exclude any responsibility DreamSail has for its own negligence, misleading information, breach of contract or statutory duties.
We may update these website terms to reflect changes in the site, law or supplier relationships. The date above identifies the current version. Changes do not retrospectively alter a binding booking contract already concluded.
These website-use terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not remove any mandatory consumer protection you have under the law that applies to you, or any right you may have to bring proceedings in a court available to you under applicable law.
